You will never see a tribe led by a manager. At best, they help maintain the status quo. Leaders build and lead tribes — they inspire, protect, nurture and are guardians of the culture.
Leaders inspire you to do your best work. Managers make certain that you check all the boxes. Managers use megaphones to tell the world their virtues as a leader. The best leaders go about their business in a quiet and deliberate way.
If you have to tell someone that you are a leader, you are really a manager. Live with that reality.
