We watched Hillbilly Elegy on Netflix the other night. A moving story of a young boy who grows up in a poor, dysfunctional home, raised by his single Mom who was an addict. He beats all the odds to graduate law school from Yale.
This true story moved me in multiple ways. I know a number of people who, in spite of the odds stacked against them, did well to make a life for themselves. No excuses. No pity party. Just hard work and laser sharp focus.
The final lesson was powerful: “where we come from is who we are, how we live our lives everyday, is who we become. “
Professor, I am really glad you have these posts here. Thankyou
