I started reading “Extreme Ownership” by Willink and Babin, two Navy Seals who learned their lessons on leadership and winning on the battlefields of Iraq.
When US Navy Seals make mistakes, people die. When executives make mistakes, they look for scapegoats. The premise is simple — take complete ownership, for strategy and for failure. Don’t pass the buck, don’t play the blame game, don’t point fingers. Irrespective of the outcome, in the final analysis, the total responsibility for a mission rests with the leader. End of story. No excuses. Nowhere to hide.
I am liking this reading stuff already.
I have read this book and it does a phenomenal job of explaining the leadership styles and approaches that are taken on the field, the concepts / theories behind them and how they can successfully be applied to everyday life including the business world. Great Book!
