A young child is brushed aside as collateral damage stemming from a nasty divorce. Mom and Dad have moved on to greener pastures (or so they think) and this young girl has been left, for the most part, to fend for herself.
Once a big happy family is now divided and this young girl fell through the chasm of a failed relationship. Now 16, the sadness in her eyes tell the story about the turmoil in her heart. We put her to work this summer, and she was touched by the attention and nurturing care she got from Rohini and the ladies at the school. Sometimes it can be difficult to accept the kindness of strangers when life is isolating and lonely.
When people fall out of love, they should not stay together. However, they should not cast aside the children that they brought into this world. When a child loses their innocence, nobody wins, and a young life is tainted forever.
