Managing People

management

Welcome to the professional work place where managing people is an everyday challenge.

There are those that get it done — day in and day out — and rise to every challenge with a sense of ownership. These gems are few and far between.

These are many in the work place that game the system. Watch the clock. Do the minimum required to get by and pick up a paycheck with alarming regularity. My patience is wearing thin for those that point fingers at others, make up the rules as they go along, and never take responsibility.

Managing people is an art. It requires a bucketful of patience, an ounce of compassion, a low tolerance for incompetence, and an occasional firm hand.

I think business would be so much simpler, if we just took people out of the equation. Money will probably grow on trees, before that ever happens, and pigs will grow wings.
