Meetings. Meetings. And More Meetings.

There has got to be a better way. I recently spent almost 8 hours in meetings in one day! I respect the need to huddle talent to develop game plans and get everyone moving in the right direction. However, meetings can be the bane of ones’ existence. Meetings designed for dissemination of information are a waste of time. I know I would be more productive if I spent less time in meetings.

We should hold meetings to develop missions and make critical decisions that require varying points of view. Not to share repetitive, factual data.

I wonder — how many man-hours do we spend in companies in meetings? And I really wonder how much of that time is truly productive? That’s the beauty of time consuming meetings — you can spend a lot of time wondering.

Like a said earlier, there really has got to be a better way…
