It’s still day light outside. It’s past midnight, in Reykjavik, as I settle in to write after a long day of life changing experiences. The streets are still crowded with people slipping in and out of bars. Some of the shops are still open, catering to last minute appetites for chocolate and ice-cream.
This is all so new to me. My eyes, and my mind, are conditioned to darkness as a cue for rest and shut eye. Yet, there is no darkness.
Today I learnt about sustainable geo thermal energy. When science and environmental conditions come together, it’s a thing of beauty. More on that later. For now, I need to rest my tired eyes in the dark. The problem is that is no “dark” in Iceland in June.
