The passing of our basset, Bella, was a sad time for our family. The house was empty for a few weeks and then we ran into Molly a, lab/retriever/border collie puppy that was deprived of affection and needed a home. Not sure we know her breed. Not sure it matters.
In the photo above she is taking her first ride home with her ‘forever’ mom, Rohini. Molly has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have ever known. The other two dogs in our house are not as excited about the new arrival. We all have a tendency to protect our turf.
I grew up with dogs around our home, but never inside the house. That was a big NO NO for my Ma. Rohini, however, has made me an ardent dog lover, and not so little Molly has captured my heart. She has a vulnerability that tugs at the heart strings …..and those innocent eyes…………
The kindness we show to animals says a lot about our character. And my favorite line from Molly’s ‘forever’ mom — “The more I get to know people, the more I love my dogs!”
