It’s been 16 years since Dad passed away. In some strange way, it seems like a recent event. Dad was, and will always be, my hero.
The central focus of everything Dad did, was his family. Growing up in traditional, conservative, India in the yesteryears, Dad was beyond liberal with his children.
He was wildly successful as a leading lawyer and as a judge. He was kind and philanthropic, giving generously of his wealth and his time, particularly to the poor.
He built a school for girls, in a local village, so that they would have a good education. He built a temple for the community, as he was always a man of God. He never stopped giving. He got great satisfaction from watching others blossom.
Today, I try and lead my life based on his example. If I can be half the person he was, my life will be worthwhile. Rest well Dad. Even though he walks the heavens with Mom, he live in my heart every single day.
