My Old Girl

It is imprudent to discuss and draw attention to a lady’s age, unless she happens to be of the four legged variety. My Bichon, Emma Elsie Rose, is almost 15. She joined our family as an eight week old puppy and has been an integral part of our family all these years. Emma has always had the sweetest disposition and temperament of any of our dogs.

Age has finally caught up with Emma. Her movement is labored and a lot slower than the past.  She needs a little help getting on and off her favorite perch in the house. She is now more demanding when it comes to her food and her walks. God forbid, either one of those are late by even a minute. She has earned the right to be demanding, and we are happy to cater to her needs.

Not quite sure how much time our fur baby has on this Earth, but we intend to keep her comfortable and happy. Why is that our dogs settle into our hearts? They have taught me a lot about unconditional love and  loyalty. I love on my Emma girl, more so now, than when she was a puppy. Time to go feed her!
