My Old Girl

She is almost 16 — close to 109 years old in people years.  Affectionately, I call her Einstein. She looks like a mad scientist, with the hair to match.  She can’t hear, or see, and she is “Ms. Hobble Sticks” when she walks around the block.

Emma has been with our family since she was an eight week old puppy.  The sweet  baby girl has turned into a sweet old girl. Age has slowed her down, but she is still feisty.  She wants her food and her walks and her “treats” when she wants them. No negotiation here.  And she lets us know when we are late in meeting her needs.

Right now, we keep her comfortable and keep her safe. Not sure how much time my old girl has on this earth — we want it to be as happy and as blissful as possible.  These dog children teach us about love and loyalty.  My Emma girl is as good as they come.
