Onboarding

Most organizations, including ours, do a terrible job of onboarding new talent. We tend to throw them in the deep end without a life jacket, and hope that the toughest survive.

Most onboarding takes the form of an employee manual, and a folder full of corporate collateral that no one reads or buys into, to begin with.  Effective onboarding has to be a cultural immersion with a touch of hand holding and showing the newbies the ropes.

Very few companies get this process right. We have to be one of the good ones. How else will we get and keep the best talent?
