He looked like a large college kid — long hair, oversized tee and basketball shorts to boot. He looked like he did not have a care in the world, and not much direction either. Boy, have I ever been more wrong.
He was an anesthesiologist, working at one of the finest hospitals in Los Angeles. He was focused, accomplished, brilliant at this craft, and super nice!!
Looks can be so deceiving. And our cultural stereotypes can define our own myopia. I shook my head in disbelief as we bumped fists and wished each other well. People continue to surprise me, and I keep learning as I go along.
