Our Psycho Dogs

my dog molly

Beyond all their love, chaotic madness, and a constant desire to beg for food, lies the psychotic behavior of my crazy dogs.
My black devil, Molly is as loving as she is crazy. She is terrified of cars, wary of strangers, uneasy around children, attacks the broom, and withdrawn from other dogs. She does not like anybody except her family. She loves her myopic life, lived in a doggy bubble.
The fact she was isolated from all human contact, and confined to a small back yard, for the first ten months of her life has certainly not helped. It does not justify her behavior, just explains it a tad.
On the flip side, she “owns” the house, runs rough shod over the other dogs and is the apple of Rohini’s eye.
We love these fur babies, irrespective of how ugly they are, and in spite of their unpredictable, psychotic behavior. Their one look often melts my heart, and I think they secretly smile at our gullibility.
It truly is a dog’s world.
