Paris

I think I have a sign on my forehead that screams tourist.  The cab guy got me good, as did the the cafe staff that charged me 6 Euros for a water! Our little apartment, though cozy, is super small. And everything is exorbitant. I figure, I have made my contribution to the French economy.

These transgressions and inflated costs aside, I love Paris. I was blown away by the scale and richness of the art at the Louvre, even though the Mona Lisa was a little disappointing. Funny how that happens when we expect too much.

The Notre Dame Cathedral, And the Eiffel Tower were breathtaking as were the Luxembourg gardens. My favorite activity? Sipping wine at the hundreds of little cafes’ that hug the sidewalks of this beautiful city. And, yes, people watching. This is a global hobby for me. It is amazing how much insight one can get into human behavior through the power of observation. The wine certainly provides a special lens for observing the masses. So many people. So many cafes’. So much wine. So little time.

Au revoir, Paris. Thanks for the memories.
