Tomorrow, we celebrate the birthday of a true sage — Mahatma Gandhi. As a young man, I never really cared for his message of peace and non-violence. I wanted to fight for what was rightfully ours. Maybe that would have saved us fifty years of British subjugation.
However, today I get it. In our violent world, his message of peace resonates even more clearly. I also heard Ms. Jacinda Ardern’s speech at the United Nations. The Prime Minister of New Zealand had a special message for world leaders, and for all of us — focus on kindness, and “put it ahead of isolationism, rejection and racism”. What a unique message, from a powerful platform.
Imagine our world filled with peace, and kindness towards each other. I wish I had a magic wand to make this all come true.
