Perspective

Through the cloud of sorrow and despair, we must look for glimmers of hope and optimism.  The one thing loss has taught me, is to keep it real and look at the world through a lens of kindness and compassion.

The things that used to bother me a decade or two ago, don’t phase me at all.  Life changing events create perspective for us.  The loss of a loved one, the birth of a child, the human connection with a soul mate — they all make us look at the world differently. And we are better for it.

The storms will pass, and the sun will shine again.  Joy and laughter will come back to us, and the promise of a new tomorrow will provide fuel for the soul.  We just have to use the right lens through which we will find peace and happiness.

  1. We also have to remind ourselves to remember this, the joy, the peace, the blessings, each moment, each hour, each day….and onward.
