I see the pain and suffering of the human condition. I see friends and neighbors fight cancer and battle poor health. I see economic hardship and the fight for survival. I see the world falling apart all around us.
With this less than cheery outlook, I seek pockets of happiness in my little world. The silly antics of my baby grandson, the simple joy of a long walk, and an early round of bad golf with genuinely good people. Of course Rohini gets great amusement to see the female dogs go at each other, as they fight for her affection.
As I sought through old photographs, my daughter reminded me that we are blessed with a beautiful family and the precious gift of life and love.
I think we should all wade through the quagmire of discontent and find tiny pockets of happiness in life’s simple things.
