Football fever grips this city. We raised the flag at the Montessori to celebrate my beloved BUCS. We have lived through many years of obscurity and frustration. Now we get ready to play the biggest game of the year, at our home stadium. That is a historical first.
Sports is about hope and winning, losing and heartbreak, moments of exhilaration and moments of despair. This year, the BUCS are the underdogs.
The odds are stacked against us, and the pundits give us few chances to win — but that’s why we play the game. The pundits have not stepped into the arena. The arm chair quarterbacks need to sit quietly.
Time to raise the flags and cheer like never before. I like our chances. Raise the flag. Fire the cannons. GO BUCS.
