Certainly, the cream rises to the top. The high performers never have to tell others how hard they work. Where their passion lies. Day in and day out, they focus on the grind, rarely thinking of rewards.
And then there are the bean counters, the clock watchers, the “bide my time” — so I can pick up a paycheck — workers. They rarely think, do what they are told to do, with minimal enthusiasm, and minimal effort.
The chasm between these two type of workers is an interesting insight into human behavior. I am formally parting with the latter. Time to reward the best of the best.
