I was very impressed by the student research day at The University of Tampa (UT) this past Friday. It was rewarding to see faculty collaborative efforts shine through in student projects.
Poster displays ranged from risk assessment in different countries to exploring the market for luxury goods in Tunisia. The work was impressive and the energy in the room palpable.
There is a lesson here for those of us who have been in the workplace for more than a few years. We tend to move away from disciplined thinking and make business choices on the fly without rational, logical reasoning behind our choices.
Good business practices should come from good theory and meaningful decision frameworks. Its OK to take a step back before taking two steps forward.
