Dr. James Krause, a good friend and colleague for over twenty years, passed away unexpectedly. Jim was a brilliant teacher, an accountant extraordinaire and a good family man.
Jim was really a Marketing guy. We collaborated on one unique research paper, and he taught me how to shoot craps at the tables in Vegas. We enjoyed quality whiskey and played bad golf together.
I lost touch with Jim when he left UTAMPA to teach at another university. He was one of the old timers — a group of guys who helped define the culture of our college that resonates in the hallways even today.
I loved his philosophy — love your family and friends, and screw the IRS. I just hope that big brother is not watching.
Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and generations of students whose life he touched in incredible ways.
Rest well Jim, we will miss you.
Rest Well Jim
