I occasionally come across students who have a brilliant blend of intellect, emotional intelligence and heart. When it comes together, it’s like magic.
Meet Ronice Barlow, 2017 Executive MBA student of the year at The University of Tampa (UT). Ronice is a senior executive for a leading financial institution, wife, mom, and community leader. Rarely have I met a student with so much compassion, genuine caring and professional success. Refreshing, in every sense of the word.
Today, as I hosted an open house for potential incoming freshmen at UT, I was pleasantly surprised to see Ronice in the audience with her husband and her daughter, Georgia, a potential freshman.
Life comes full circle. A brilliant professional playing mom, to a beautiful young lady with tremendous upside. I was moved, and driven by pride. Much to Ronice’s chagrin, I chose to recognize her in a public domain. Today I celebrated her success and my role as a teacher, because students like Ronice make it all worthwhile. And the rites of passage continue…….
