Two young men, Shane & Sean, working the Christmas Tree lot at Lowe’s went into overdrive when Rohini asked for pine tree clippings for the school program. “I have a 16 month old baby”, Shane said and grabbed a full bodied tree and began skinning it down to its main trunk. “It’s for the children”, he said, visibly moved.
I gave them a handsome tip, probably a lot more than the value of the trimmings and the tree combined. They both were clearly
touched by my generous gesture. That’s the beauty of the holidays — we pay it forward, we touch a life, and put a smile in a heart. And it rarely is ever about the money.
