Solace

solace

We seek solace in the arms of love,
In the familiar. In a warm bed on cold winter nights.
We find comfort in old shirts and weather beaten shoes;
And in the faded memories of our childhood.
I see a heart-broken young man,
Seek peace in the memories of his lost bride,
Dancing with the Angels.

The years have flashed by with meteoric speed,
Leaving in their path a lot more gray, and a touch of wisdom.
A calm sea is a mirage. As elusive as our deepest desires.
Find tranquil serenity with what you have, and stop chasing the rainbow.
