Star Struck

iifa

The IIFA Awards (The Bollywood Oscars) are part of the social calendar this week in my home town of Tampa, Florida. As a self-proclaimed Bollywood junkie, I love the onslaught of Hindi movie stars on the city but balked at the price tag that is more than what most people would pay for an organ in most countries.

The Platinum package per person is priced at $20,000. No, that is NOT a typo. 20 grand! Period. The silver package, an outrageous seven and a half grand.

There is not a movies star in the world, or a scantily clad actress for that matter, that garners a $20,000 onslaught on my bank account.

Being star struck is one thing. Being struck by the stars is quite another.

I guess my celluloid fantasies will have to continue without seeing the glitter in real-life.
And for those of you shelling out the big bucks, my therapist can really help!
