I’m finally back home after 4 wonderful days in DC. The highlight of the trip was spending quality time with my family. It reinforced the notion of work/ life balance. Those who know me well would argue that I have more life… and less work. Unfortunately, we don’t see too much of that with young (or even older) professionals. There is too much focus on career and climbing the corporate ladder. A consistent pattern of spending that extra hour in the office results in missed baseball games, lack of help with homework, and certainly the neglected significant other.
That’s the beauty of work — when you get back to the office tomorrow, it will be still waiting for you, because the job is never done.
Take time to smell the roses, and the wine bouquet. Cheers!
