That First Day

More than three decades in a classroom, yet there is something about that first day of the semester.  A twinge of nervous energy, a few butterflies in the gut, and measured excitement about what might lie in store.

Some of these emotions stem from my love for my craft, and the responsibility of teaching these young women and men how to be true professionals. Their success is my success; the cost of failure too high.

The classroom is my temple — sacred, hallowed ground for learning, and testing the mettle of the uninitiated.  Clearly not a domain for the faint hearted, or those looking for an easy ride.

Time to get to work and change lives — one student at a time.
