Stay home. Stay away from friends. Maintain social distance. The messaging is crystal clear. The outcome of not listening is pretty clear too.
Life has slowed to a crawl. Still teaching and focusing on family and the simple things. Somehow this simple life will help create a new normal. The life we knew will be different than the life we will live.
I do miss hanging out with my few buddies, and certainly miss my students and colleagues. Yet, the dogs are ecstatic that we are home all the time. Not going places, is very different than not being able to go places.
I somehow sense that the slow pace will stay long after the storm has blown over. Till then, the nesting instinct will have to suffice.
