The ART of NO

no

Too many of us repeat behavior we find frustrating, or make allowances for those who take ownership off our time, because of our inability to say NO. We are scared of hurting ‘their’ feelings. What will ‘they’ think of us?

In the mean time we put our own lives on hold, because we want to avoid confrontation, and we succumb to emotional blackmail.

Meet NO — a simple word, when used for the right reasons, creates the power of control of your own destiny. The older I get, the greater my tendency to use the word with alarming regularity. The advantage? A sense of peace and calm, and many hours of my most precious commodity — time.  When people continue to make demands, my famous response is always the same — “What part of NO don’t you get? The N or the O”?
