Successful businesses are only as good as their people. While it is a common belief that one should hire for talent and retain for character, we have decided to shift the paradigm significantly. We now focus on hiring for character and retaining for character. Character in the workplace is a delicate balance between job specific intellectual skills, large amounts of emotional intelligence, and a value system that aligns seamlessly.
Our small company has made a conscious decision, moving forward, to clear out the deadwood, hire the right people, and compensate them accordingly. We have always believed in investing in our people, but we plan to step up the initiative, and put a smile on the right faces.
We expect to deal with the pain points, and the difficult transitions, but it will be worth it in the long run. We have tremendous executive leadership, and we are counting on them to steer the ship. How else will we continue to be the best, in our space?
