On a quiet street in suburbia, where I live, there are twenty two homes. On this street alone, eight families are dealing with cancer. One lost her son to the disease, and the others are fighting this monster with fortitude.
I see the pain and suffering in the eyes of those who fight. The uncertainty of what lies ahead is unnerving. These days, this disease spares no one — young and old, male and female. Irrespective of ethnicity, this deadly disease is destroying families. Just last night, a dear friend lost a family member.
The fragility of life, once again, comes into central focus. The direction of our lives, changes on a dime. As someone who lost a sister to this monster, I lived her nightmare with her for almost 5 years. I miss her, and root for my friends and neighbors. Helpfully, some divine intervention can help get everyone some answers.
