Theodore Roosevelt was right — the critics don’t count. Most of them hit below the belt with a focus on hurting rather than helping people improve.
Most critics sit on the sidelines and never enter the arena where the brave battle. It’s not important that these daily warriors win. What counts is that they choose to fight for others and work hard without a focus on reward.
Sometimes, the critics get to us. We should not allow that to happen. When we let them kill our motivation, we let them win. And that’s not why champions really play — they fight for what’s right, with little regard for the naysayers. When the critics lose, we all win.
