Theodore Roosevelt’s commentary on the “Man in the Arena” is posted on my office door. I am always pleasantly surprised at the number of students who stop by to read the post, and usually comment on it’s powerful directive.
The message is simple — don’t worry about the critics. Focus on what’s important, and in getting the job done. Failure is not unusual. Experiencing victory, or defeat, is far more important than never having tried. Success is relative — as is failure.
