I remember exactly where I was when the world changed forever, as do most people in this country. Senseless violence, a tragic loss of life, and the most heinous crime in American History driven by a group of sick men prescribing to a warped ideology and agenda. I think the world still feels the ripple effects of that horrendous day.
Today is not about politics, or business, or religion. It is about saying a silent prayer for children growing up without fathers and mothers. It is about widows, mothers and siblings coping with the personal loss of loved ones. The country continues to reel from the events of that day.
I have learned the hard way that deep loss changes us deeply. The irony is that tragedy gives us a perspective that we sorely lack, and probably need. Its just a tough way to learn life’s lessons.
Here we are, more than a decade later, still stirred by the tragedy of that awful day. While we all grieve differently, and debate the causes and effects of 9/11, we do hold common ground when it comes to one indelible fact — we will never forget.
