The Habit Cycle

Habits, to an extent, are conditioned behavior. The good habits are difficult to form, while the bad ones are difficult to break. Habits form as consistent behavioral responses to environmental stimuli.

Subconsciously, we do things, because we have always done them a particular way.  Over time, these behaviors become automated and develop a life of their own.

I am on a personal quest to redefine some of my own habitual behavior. As Socrates brilliantly professed, “The secret of change is to focus all your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new.”
