The Journey to Success

Thank_You

Showing emotion is not a sign of weakness. It shows that you care. As I watched the induction of football greats into the Hall of Fame, I was caught up in the magnitude of the moment and the tears that flowed freely. Big, strong men reaching the pinnacle of their careers — attributing their success to the sacrifices of others — and not afraid to show their appreciation for those without whom none of this would have been possible.

I can think back to my own journey to the US and my Mom and Dad’s belief in me. Particularly at a time when I never gave them any reason to believe in anything that I did.  I certainly have no illusions about my accomplishments, except that I care about working hard to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

I think that is what we should focus on — expressing our appreciation to those that made sacrifices for us, so that we could be better professionals and certainly better people.

My parents have since passed away and I thank them silently every day for my many blessings.  When was the last time you reached out to say “Thank You” to those who believed in you and those who made sacrifices to allow you to accomplish your goals?
