The Little Signs

The ornaments on the tree are a gentle reminder of dear Judi who has passed.  The cardinal sighting reminds a loved one of her Dad who walks the heavens. The intense conversations, and the things I say, that remind me that I am turning into my father. He taught me well, and oh how I miss him.

These little signs are manifestations of the impact our loved ones had on us over time. They may have left us, but they left an indelible mark on our lives and on our psyches. And yes, the hole in our hearts are real.

The holidays are always more difficult without our loved ones, but we must accept their absence and focus on those that are here and with us now.  I think we should create more memories and ensure that these little signs never fade.
