It’s easy to ride a bike downhill, go down a flight of stairs, or to do the least amount of work to check boxes in order to complete an assignment.
The good ones go the extra mile. Take initiative. Inspire others to get better by how hard they work. Change does not come from maintaining the status quo. Meaningful change comes through accepting new challenges, and going above and beyond.
Anyone can take a hammer and break rocks into little pieces. Carving a masterpiece takes diligence, creativity and divine inspiration. Just look at the statute of David in Florence.
