The Tech Generation – The Spill-over Effect

The younger generation, though tech savvy, continues to lose its communication skills. This tech boom has crept across demographic and socio-economic segments. With each text, email, and social media flurry, we hide more, talk less, and create chasms that hinder meaningful interaction.

When was the last time you picked up the phone to hear the voice of a loved one, or held hands with the one you love, with a gentle caress? The next time you get the urge to bury your head in your tablet, resist the temptation. Instead, grab a coffee with that special friend, take a long walk, bask in the beauty of life’s simple pleasures, and heaven forbid – read a book.

I am not sure that the smart phone makes as any smarter. The real irony? The more connected we get, the more disconnected we really are…
