The Underdog

I have always rooted for the underdog. Maybe in some strange way, I too have been an underdog most of my life.  When the chips are down, and no one gives us a shot, we rise to the occasion surprising everyone, including ourselves.

Today, a long shot underdog, Cameron Smith, went on to win the British Open golf championship. In some strange way, it was a win for all of us underdogs.  He put together the round of his life, at exactly the right time.

Hard work, perfect timing and divine intervention make the impossible, possible. The good ones rise to the occasion, when no one gives us a chance.  That’s the beauty of the underdog — they win, when no one thinks they can.
