Trainer Pain

trainer-pains

3 sets of 4 separate exercises in sequence — 40 seconds on, 20 seconds to rest. 3 times over. Are you kidding me?

My personal trainer, Alex, takes particular pride in working me hard, as if he enjoys watching me in pain, to the point of total exhaustion. I hate the process, but love the sense of accomplishment when I am able to catch my breath 45 minutes later.

And I pay him to do this to me? I must get my head examined.

I would probably not be able to do it without him. Trust me, I have tried. I tend to cheat on the reps, and stop before the pain starts. Why do I work harder for him, than for myself? He enables me to push to my limits of endurance. Its a good combination of not letting him down and my own ego that says “failure is not an option.” It’s a lot easier to quit when no one is watching me.

My doctor is impressed, as my labs are looking good. That was not always the case. I guess that is the ultimate reward — a healthier me!

If you reach a point in your life where you can’t push yourself enough, personally or professionally, get a trainer, a life coach, or even a good friend, who will enable you to push yourself physically or intellectually. The rewards will be fantastic.
