This is a subject dear to my heart. I am always amazed as good people leave to pursue new personal and professional goals. We must let them go without malice, or anxiety or guilt. Good people come, and good people go.
Great organizations survive these transitions. In the short term, the chosen few step up to the plate and embrace an opportunity to shine. None of us is indispensable. Not you, not me, nor the guy or girl in the corner office.
Every transition creates an organizational opportunity to get better. We plan to thrive and prosper. Time for the potential, latent, talent to rise to the surface. Excellence is not an option, it is a mandate.
