United Airlines SUCKS (in any language)

united-sucks

Finally, my Soapbox!!!!!!!!
This is a first — using this medium to vent.

In reference to United Airlines, I actually googled “you suck” in different languages, but decide against the translations — better safe than sorry on what I might come up with……

On her way back from India, Rohini has been stranded in Newark for over 7 hours. After 30 hours on the road and in the air, she has been dealing with the incompetence of those who should go out of their way to welcome her home. Exhausted, jet-lagged, yet always polite.

And then, to add insult to injury, welcome to United Airlines — incompetence magnified, and devoid of an iota of service. Here was the chain of events — missed flight, RUDE, UNHELPFUL AGENTS; standby arrangements; RUDE, UNHELPFUL, AGENTS; ANOTHER missed flight; wife in tears; Pissed me! FINALLY, a seat on the last flight out.

And this after spending over $4.5K for a business class ticket. She will be home 7 hours after her scheduled arrival. Is this acceptable? Or do we deal with it because we just want to come home?

Where did the airlines go so wrong? Why is that they have become the symbols of poor responsiveness, appalling empathy and deplorable service? If I ran my business by ‘their’ rules, my customers would flee in droves, and I would shut down in a heartbeat. No other industry, or company, can operate like this and survive. We all are stuck. We keep complaining, and keep flying. Life in the fast lane. Something has got to give, or people will start going ‘postal’.

Thanks for the therapy, and for listening. I feel so much better……
