I distinctly remember sitting in an empty hallway talking to an empathetic surgeon about my sisters new reality, while she lay in the post surgical ICU.
Cancer is an ugly reminder of the fragility of life. The battle ahead is never easy for the patient or the families who care for them.
Hug your babies close tonight. And make that call to those you love to tell them you love them. Those that fight may lose the battle — however, we have to fight with them side by side, to help them win the war.
