My wife, Rohini, came back from India after 11 days, leaving us to fend for ourselves. Here are the top ten things I learned about my life when she was out of the country:
10. Walking the dogs around the block, starting at 5:30am, is an overrated experience.
9. Two glasses of wine turn into three glasses of wine when I am by myself.
8. Our son is a mess (whether she is in town or not).
7. If I leave dishes in the sink, they are still sitting there when I get back.
6. Carry-out 11 days in a row is kind of gross.
5. When I am out of milk, black coffee tastes pretty good.
4. I can watch TV — with the volume turned up — as late into the night as I like.
3. Everyone I know feels sorry for me, and wants to know how I am holding up.
2. House cleaning the day before she arrives is exhausting.
And then Number ONE thing that I learned about my life:
1. I am not sure I would really make it without her…
