Today I kick off my 32nd year at The University of Tampa. The classroom continues to be my temple of learning. The brash young prof is now an older seasoned veteran.
I now mentor the young profs that join the ranks, and am a keeper of the culture. My students that took classes with me in the early 90’s, are now in their fifties. I have taught moms and dads, and their sons and daughters — two generations and counting.
Teaching is the gift that keeps on giving. After a long summer, I am raring to go back into the classroom, where I can practice my craft. I am one of the lucky ones — I love what I do. And my “kids” make it all worthwhile.
